Released in 1992 and 2003 for Super Nintendo and Game Boy Advance, Super Double Dragon and Double Dragon Advance are considered by many fans as two of the best games in the whole franchise and two great examples of what makes a great Double Dragon.
Unfortunately, both games are forever locked in their original hardware, outside the reach of millions of potential players. Or, at least, it wasn’t. Releasing this November 9th, Super Double Dragon and Double Dragon Advance will be available for all consoles and Steam, thanks to Arc System Work. More than that, both games will be available in physical format, in a nice package that contains all Double Dragon games that were released exclusively for the Nintendo Consoles. Although this physical release is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch in Europe and North America. Sorry PlayStation and Xbox fans. (PC also won’t get a physical release but that’s not new.)
The Physical Edition, dubbed Double Dragon Collection, is being prepared by Clear River Games and will hit the market at some point early next year. We don’t know the price at this point, but we will be updating this story as soon as we get more information from the publisher.
Here’s the list of games that will be in this collection: DOUBLE DRAGON
DOUBLE DRAGON II: The Revenge
DOUBLE DRAGON III: The Sacred Stones (all in English version)
Double Dragon IV
Double Dragon Advance
Super Double Dragon.
Super Double Dragon and Double Dragon Advance will be available digitally for all platforms and Steam on November 9th.
